Japan
There are some destinations that live up to the hype and I safely say that includes Japan. After visiting in 2026, I can confidently say it exceeded every expectation I had, and then some.
Japan is one of those rare places where everything just works. The trains run flawlessly, the cities are incredibly clean, the food is consistently amazing, and the attention to detail in everything—from hospitality to design—is top notch. But what really makes Japan special is the contrast. You can go from neon-lit city streets to peaceful temples, from bustling markets to serene mountain onsens, all in the span of a single day.
This is just the beginning of my Japan content here on Mountains & Mahals. I’ll be sharing detailed itineraries, hotel reviews, destination guides, and travel tips to help you plan your own trip.
If Japan is on your radar (or even if it’s not yet), stay tuned because I have a lot more coming your way.
