Collage of 5 pictures showcasing Central India: close-up of an elephant, intricate carvings on a Khajuraho temple, serene forested lake, ancient temple corridors, and a tiger camouflaged in dry grass

Central India is vast region encompassing the largest states in India. It spans across parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Often referred to as the heart of India, it has immense natural biodiversity with dense forests and many national parks. It also has some of the oldest places of cultural importance in the country with the Khajuraho Temples located here.

My favorite experience in India was tiger spotting in Panna National Park in Madhya Pradesh. It was one of the most rewarding travel I have ever done. Here are my recommendations for Central India.
